2025 Schedule of Events
The Girls in Manufacturing (GIM) Summer Camp is a hands-on technical skills career camp designed to empower middle school and high school girls by introducing them to skilled trades and technical careers. Through immersive workshops, mentorship, and real-world experience, participants gain the confidence and skills to explore careers in manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, and other high-demand industries.

Campers will explore manufacturing technology by transforming raw materials into finished products. Through machining, fabrication, design, and quality control, they gain hands-on experience with industry tools, building confidence and skills for future careers in manufacturing.

Welding
The process of fusing metal pieces together using heat, pressure, or electricity to create strong, permanent bonds.
Media Blasting
A surface treatment process that uses high-speed particles (sand, glass beads, etc.) to clean, smooth, or texture materials.
Powder Coating
A durable finishing process that applies a dry powder to metal surfaces and cures it with heat for a strong, protective coating.
Grinding
Grinding is a machining process in which an abrasive wheel removes material from a workpiece's surface to achieve the desired shape, size, and surface finish with high precision.
